Telmo Ramon Languiller-Tornesi was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1957. He is married with four children.
He was educated at Flemington High School and University High School. He acheived a Bachelor of Arts (sociology and politics majors) at FIT.
Telmo was elected Member for Sunshine September 1999 and then elected Member for Derrimut November 2002; re-elected Member for Derrimut in November 2006..
Within the Australian Labor Party, Telmo has held many positions, including being a member of the Immigration and Ethnic Affairs Policy Committee and the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Policy Committee. He was a delegate to ALP National Conference in 1998.
He also acted as special advisor in the former Labor government to the Premier on Victoria – Spain and Latin America Business Relations.
Before entering parliamanet, Telmo worked as a Spanish interpreter/translator, Trade Union Migrant Workers' Centre Occupational rehabilitation policy officer, HSU and as an electorate assistant to Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Brian Howe MHR.
Languages: Fluent in Spanish and Italian.
