Brian Tee BIO

    Brian was born 19 January 1969 in South Africa, and after moving to Australia with his family was educated at All Saints College in Western Australia. He obtained a Bachelor of Law from the University of Western Australia.

    After admittance as a barrister and solicitor, Brian worked for Dwyer Durack, Barristers and Solicitors from 1992-95. He also held the position of Industrial Officer for the Liquor Hospitality and Miscellaneous Worker’s Union from1995-99 and was a solicitor for Ryan Carlisle Thomas, 1999-2000.

    From 2000 to 2003 Brian worked in the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development. Before entering Parliament, Brian was the Senior Adviser to Rob Hulls MP, Attorney General, Minister for Industrial Relations and Minister for Planning from 2003-06.

    Brian was elected as Member for Eastern Metropolitan Region in 2006. In 2007 he served as Chair of the Law Reform Committee and was Deputy Chair of the Select Committee on Public Land Development. He is currently a member of the Economic Development and Infrastructure Committee and the Standing Committee on Finance and Public Administration.

    Brian was Parliamentary Secretary for Justice until January 2010, a role in which he supported the Attorney-General, Police and Emergency Services Minister and Consumer Affairs and Gaming Minister Tony Robinson.

    Brian is currently Shadow Minister for Planning and Shadow Minister for Sustainable Growth.

The Region includes the Sandown Racecourse, Victoria Police Academy, the Frankston, Clayton and Berwick campuses of Monash University, the Rusden campus of Deakin University, the Edithvale-Seaford wetlands environmental areas, Patterson Lakes Estate, Frankston reservoir, Lysterfield Lake, the Cardinia reservoir and a number of beaches, and a number of parks and reserves.
